What is a Canadian Study Visa- SDS Programme?

Canada has launched a new rule, SDS (Study Direct Stream) for applying the study visa which has replaced SPP, which was started in 2009. The former SPP programme which was used for Canadian Study Visa applications, used to link agents with colleges. Student Direct Stream (SDS) provides a streamlined study application process for students with strong English who will enter into their program of study at an eligible post- secondary Designated Learning Institute (DLI)

HOW DOES THE SDS PROGRAMME WORK?

• Obtain offer letter from a Designated Learning Institute
• Payment of tuition fee
• Obtain Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC)
• Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (CAQ) from the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (this is only required if you’re planning to study in Quebec)
• Medical
• Embassy fee
• Biometric fee
• Passport Submission
